Looking Up

I am starting to feel better.
I was even able to take two short walks around our block last week. I panted like anything, but that was the most exercise I have had in two months.
I still get nauseous in the evening, but it is nowhere as severe as before. Instead of taking anti-nausea medication, I’ve started taking a 25-mg benadryl about an hour before bed time. The benadryl helps with my nausea and helps me sleep better through the night.
I also discovered that drinking International Foods brand decaffeinated, sugar free coffee drink gives me a bad headache. I’m bummed because I love the taste of coffee, and cannot drink regular coffee anymore (gives me a bad heart burn). Guess it’s back to hot chocolate and Horlicks.
Hubby said he could notice a positive change in my mood. I was feeling very down when my physical symptoms were worst. He was pleased to see me smiling more and even laughing from time to time.
Over the weekend I attended a friend’s bridal shower. There were 2 other pregnant women there, who were both further along in their pregnancies (6 and 7 months). I had the smallest “baby bump” – see picture. One of the women said she had morning sickness up to 20 weeks of pregnancy; however, she was carrying twins. I asked her if she had found any remedies that helped her nausea. She said she had to “wait it out”, which was pretty much what I had discovered for myself.
My amniocentesis has been rescheduled to July 3 because of changes to our insurance. One of my blog visitors asked about the research article on the risk of amniocentesis; she will be getting her amnio procedure this friday, June 29 – the original date I was going to have my amnio procedure. I will dig that article up and write a summary about it in a separate post. In the meantime, I will be sending her good vibes.
